Language Matters: Hold On To Your Home Language Resource
IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO SUCCEED -THEN HOLD ON TO YOUR HOME LANGUAGE :)
Here is a fantastic RESOURCE for parents about the importance of maintaining their home language. Available in 30 different languages—Arabic, Bahasa Indonesian, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, English, Farsi, Filipino, French, German, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Somali, Spanish, Tigrinya, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Urdu—this resource highlights:
The importance of home languages,
Reasons for maintaining the home language,
The advantages for children who use two languages,
How two languages work together, and
Reassurance that speaking the home language will not confuse children.
The information is presented in an easy-to-read format to support parents in fostering bilingualism and maintaining cultural connections.

In collaboration with city and community partners, Ottawa Public Health offers free drop-in services for individuals facing barriers to access at their Neighbourhood Health and Wellness Hubs. The services offered include such things as:
Vaccinations
Employment & social services
Dental screening
Parenting support
Diabetes screening
Aging Well programs
The Champlain Screening Outreach Program, which helps people access cancer screening services, and more.

Kinder Registration is now open!
If your child turns four by December 31, 2025, they can start school this upcoming September. Your child can attend Kindergarten in person, part-time or full-time.
